Cyber Coordinator
The Cyber Coordinator is the first point of contact for our regional forces when dealing with cyber-dependent crime, providing access to national and international assistance, as well as other force cybercrime units, ROCUs, and partner agencies.
Our services
Our Cyber Coordinator is DS Neil Tomes. He:
- coordinates the regional response from all forces to cyber-dependent crimes and major cyber incidents
- provides deconfliction for investigations by consulting other law enforcement agencies and threats
- supports force investigations, linking national and international partners where appropriate
- can be the regional point of contact for cyber-dependent crimes for stakeholders such as Action Fraud, National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), and Triage Incident, Coordination and Tasking (TICAT)
- assesses and records cyber training requirements for the region, managing the course booking process
- ensures forces have the best processes in place to record the receipt, assessment and allocation of cases
Who can use this service?
- All cybercrime units
- Any officers or police staff who are involved in the investigation of cyber-dependent crimes
We are keen to offer initial advice on how our capabilities and other partners may be able to assist your investigation. Bids for capabilities then need to be taken to your Force Tasking meeting.

The Regional Intelligence Unit is available:
- Monday to Friday 08:00 – 22:00
- Weekends 08:00 – 16:30
